La Crosse Harbor

La Crosse Harbor
Contributed by M. Clark

This postcard depicting La Crosse Harbor was postmarked from Brownsville, MN, on August 16, 1907, but has a credit saying "Photo only Copyrighted 1904, C.A. Krebaum, La Crosse, Wis."  The printed description on the back of the card says "During the summer months the harbor is filled with water craft.  The packet shown in the picture is the "Quincy," the largest side-wheel boat of the Diamond Jo Line.  La Crosse is visited bi-daily by these boats, running between St. Louis and St. Paul, and are largely patronized by pleasure seekers.  The scenery along the upper Mississippi is said to be far more beautiful than that of the famous rivers of the old world."
