H.J. Anderson House
Location: 1404 Cass Street
Built: 1888
Style: Queen Anne

This house represents a typical late 19th century example of the popular Queen Anne style.  During the mid-1900s it was known as "Ma Krueger's Boarding House".  "The Kruger Girls" were scholastic achievers who wished to attend local schools.  "Ma Krueger" also taught the girls social graces and encouraged them to seek careers.  The home is an excellent example of a successful do-it-yourself restoration project.  The current owners designed stained glass windows which add to the home's ambiance, and they purchased or bartered for several architectural elements from local demolition projects, creatively incorporating them into their restoration project.
